# Create a canvas

> Start a canvas from a Space and work with the AI to shape your document

A **canvas** is where you develop a single idea inside a Space. Describe a problem, drop in context, and work with the AI to shape your thinking into a structured document. There is no rigid form — the direction emerges through conversation.

Canvases always live **inside a Space**.

## Create a canvas

Canvases are created from inside a Space. Type your intent into the prompt input box — describe what you are working on — and the canvas is created from that conversation.
