# How integrations work

> From connected sources to insights and signals in Propane

Connect a source → Propane ingests historical and new data → the system processes it into **insights** → insights cluster into **signals** → that intelligence surfaces across **Signals**, **Companies**, **People**, and **Canvases**.

Unlike **Connectors** (authenticated per user for live session context), integrations are **org-wide**. See [What integrations bring in](/context/integrations/what-they-bring-in).
