Propane helps your team turn customer evidence into product decisions — faster, and grounded in real data. This guide gets you from a new workspace to working in Propane in a few steps.
The Free plan includes full canvas access, unlimited users and Spaces, real-time collaboration, and MCP (Connectors) access. There is no limit on the number of users — the only restrictions are on locked features.The Growth plan unlocks Signals & customers (Signals, Companies, People, Integrations) and Research agents.

Create your account

Sign up with your work email. Create a workspace for your organization and invite your team from Settings → Team & Members. See Team and members for details.

Connect your data

Propane works without connected data, but the canvas and AI output are significantly stronger when grounded in real customer evidence.
  • Integrations — Link Intercom, HubSpot, Attio, or other sources via Integrations. Data is shared across your whole team. (Growth plan)
  • Connectors — Use an MCP connector to bring in live context from tools like Notion, Linear, or PostHog for your own sessions. Open Settings → Connectors in Propane to connect and manage accounts.
  • Paste in content — Paste transcripts, research notes, or any text-based material directly into the prompt. See Uploading files for pasting and upcoming file uploads.

Build your first canvas

Start by creating a Space. Then type your intent into the prompt input box — this creates a canvas and kicks off the conversation. The AI asks focused follow-up questions to understand what you are working on, then generates your document.

Create a Space

Go to the Spaces tab and create a Space for your initiative. See Create a Space.

Approve and refine

When the AI has enough context, approve the plan to generate your canvas. You can keep refining in chat. See Approving the plan and Editing the canvas.
